"No idea," He'd had the idea and rather assumed someone else would figure out the detailed of how to get it done, and when she hadn't, Peter felt a bit deflated. It didn't last long and a beat later he was grinning again. "No matter! We'll canvas The Wood until we find one." Or something else that was equally interesting.

"Oh, yay!" she exclaimed with sarcasm dripping off of every word. This was his idea to begin with and of course they were flying blind. She started walking, looking at shops she had never cared to notice before. Since when had there been a tea shop? Glancing at the sign she wanted to laugh. It had been there since 1925. Smiling to herself she continued along.
"What do you usually do when you're here?" she asked not even sure that Peter was close by. He probably tried to nick as many things as he could from shops without being caught. Then again he could have just hung out in the woods with one of his little doe eyed groupies. She had almost been doused in orange juice as she went to give Peter his paper by one of them. Too busy was she ogling his perfectly messed up hair to see Sidney in front of her. "Bueller?"

"Give me a minute to reply, will ya?" Peter snapped, irritated that she hadn't actually given him a chance to answer her question before being a smart alack. "I just go wherever the fun is, which is usually in the opposite direction of you." He was irritable and embarrassed because things weren't going according to plan

Stopping in her tracks she turned to look at him. Her eyebrows were probably so far up they were in her hair but she couldn't be bothered to snap back. Instead she just held up her hands, turned, and started walking again.
She was fun. Sidney thought she was fun. Who was Peter to say she wasn't fun? Just because she didn't get herself into trouble at every turn that meant that she was boring? Psh. Sidney didn't agree at all.
Coming to a corner Sidney looked down the street and shook her head. She would show him that she could be fun. All they needed was to find the damned tattoo parlor. Sighing she looked at Peter, "I have never been down that way. Think we should check it out?"

A moment after he snapped at her, Peter felt like an ass. He was trotting after her, trying to figure out how to make it better with actually having to admit he'd done something wrong when she turned and addressed him. Blinking once at her then twice down the alley, the corner of his mouth ticked up in a smirk. "Abso-freakin-lutley."
Grabbing her hand again, he pulled her down the alley. "I think I misjudged you, darling." It wasn't exactly an apology, but it was dangerously close.

She followed behind him, her boots scuffing the cobblestone as she tried to look into the stores they were passing. These stores looked dirtier, seedier. "Yeah, yeah. Remember that the next time you feel snippy."
Despite the tone of her voice Sidney moved closer to Peter. There was obviously a reason she had never come down here. Every bone in her body wanted to go back and head to the ice cream parlor or the bookstore.
A door opened and out stepped a woman, not at all as startled to see them and Sidney was to see her. Sidney had almost ran into Peter's back and her other hand flew up to hold his arm. "Excuse us."

Peter looked wide eyed at the woman, then down at Sidney's hand on his arm. Remembering he was the big, strong man in this situation, Peter puffed out his chest and pulled himself up to his full five feet ten inches of height.
They woman didn't seem overly intimidated by his little display of bravado, more amused than anything and with little more than a toothy grin and a pat to his cheek by her weather worn hand, she kept walking.
Peter took a moment to recover form being assaulted and somehow vaguely insulted then turned to Sidney. "She thought I was cute." He bluffed, and kept walking.

Sidney watched the woman walk away and at Peter's words looked back with an amused roll of her eyes, "Of course she did." Looking up at him she realized she was way too close and stepped back, "We should probably keep looking. No sense in staying down here longer than needed."
It wasn't that the place was overly dirty or scary like Knockturn Alley back in London (she would never use floo powder again), it was foreign and not as populated as the main street of The Wood. There weren't brightly colored awnings or throngs of students. Instead there was a pub that looked like it catered to the villages shadier population, a taxidermy shop, and as Sidney looked over, a shop specializing in not so normal apothecary items.
"I am surprised you haven't asked what tattoo I picked for you." Sidney said as she stepped pver a puddle, "After our talk in the library I have to say the tramp stamp seemed most appealing."

Peter found all the windows fascinating, despite their lack of bright colors. He couldn't honestly remember if he'd been down this alley before, but then Peter forgot a lot of things the moment they were out of his head.
Hopping over the puddle, he landed, feet together, next to her and grinned, "I only said I'd let you pick the tattoo, darling. Never said I'd let you pick the size or location."

You do have a point. she conceded as they neared the end of the alley. She didn't know whether she was happy or sad that they hadn't found a parlor. A part of her had really wanted to prove to Peter that she could be fun even if it meant permanently marking her body. It had bothered her more than she realized to know he didn't think she was fun.
Is there anywhere else we can check? I will admit that I usually stick to Main Street." She looked around and only saw a few houses down another alley but none that looked like storefronts. Her arm stretched where it connected to his and she came back just a touch closer, Are you sure that you don't want a tramp stamp? It would be a great conversation starter." A genuine smile crossed her features as she looked up at Peter, hoping he knew what to do next.

"Are you calling me a tramp?" He grinned down at her, enjoying, as always, having someone hanging on his arm and every world. He had no idea where they'd go next, but he walked with purpose and to anyone observing him would think he was going something.

"Why would I call you that?" she asked, her voice dripping with innocence. "Tramp once had a positive connotation." And just like that, her innocent smile became a smirk. Not that she thought bad of Peter as a person, she thought he was an okay guy, but she liked the banter they had going. Besides her helping doing his homework, the banter was a huge chunk of their friendship. If he considered her a friend that is.
As they reentered the more populated area of main street, Sidney walked alongside Peter with no real aim. Where he went, she would go. Or he would go where she went as she steered him toward a window display. "I forgot there was a new broom model coming out next month. Isn't it beautiful?" She stared at the display, her eyes flicking between the prototype and the moving pictures behind it.

Peter's smile, which had been easy and genuine, froze and took on a fake quality. "Is there?" He tried to sound casual but failed in execution. "I suppose that's all we'll hear about for weeks. Hey, look, are they giving out free butterbeer?"

"What? I," Sidney looked around and then over her shoulder, "No. No, they are not. She was incredibly confused at his behavior. Why was he trying to divert her so easily? Flying was fun. It wasn't her life but she did enjoy it.
"I suppose it will be all we'l hear about but I don't understand-" It was then that the proverbial light bulb went off above her head. Peter didn't like flying. It wasn't uncommon but seeing as it could be reckless and dangerous she thought it would be his cup of tea.
"You don't like to fly." She said matter of factly as she looked up at him. "Can't say I expected that one but to each their own."

"What? No. I love flying. Brooms area awesome and quiddich is the best." He said with far more gusto than was absolutely necessary. He leaned closer to the glass, studying the broom and its display. "This looks like a fine, fine model. Lots of lift. Tail's not too... twiggy..." He cut his eyes to hers, to see if she was buying it.
