Peter isn't a bad guy, exactly, he's just a bit cocky. Never having to work that hard for anything will do that to a guy. Charming people has always come easily to him, which means everything else came easily as well. Couple that with his father being well known and you have one slightly spoiled and entitled sixteen year old.
Being Peter can be exhausting though. Having always been good at, well, everything, he has an overwhelming fear that if he slips up for even a moment, it'll all be lost. This is what drives him to try just a little too hard (or a lot too hard, depending on who you're talking to) to act like he doesn't care
A highly social creature, Peter needs to be constantly entertained. He can be self centered although it's not always malicious. It's just that Peter's brain takes everything an makes it about him. Thinking about other people's needs or empathizing doesn't come naturally to him. Why would it? He's never had to before.
Peter has a keen wit and is generally fun to be around. He's prone to sulks when he doesn't get his way or actually has to put effort into something
More than anything, Peter loves playing his guitar. There is no doubt in his mind that if he can just get the right band together, he'll be the biggest rock star ever, bigger than the Beatles, bigger than the Stones, and certainly bigger than those no talent ass clowns on American Idol.
Beyond music, he enjoys laughing and anything that causes that - shooting the shit with friends, a quick pickup game, or any group activity. Even classes don't bother him if he finds the subject interesting. On the flip side, he has a hard time doing anything that he finds boring or useless.
Peter is the son of a well know and well liked politician who shares his name and little else. P David Campanelli II and his wife Rose are on the road campaigning or dealing with affiars of state far more often than they're not. Peter was left in the care of various nannies and house keepers, which suited him just fine, and woe betide anyone who suggests otherwise.
He was a charming boy who had the staff wrapped around his little finger. Being Muggle born, Peter didn't know that what he was doing was magic, just that when he played music, specifically wooden instruments like his toy guitar, it made him happy inside, and made other people happy too.
They also made the other people like him more, and Peter liked it when people liked him. They gave him things and let him do stuff he shouldn't, like stay up late and eat fruit roll ups for dinner. It wasn't that he was a particularly devious or mean spirited child, but if playing his songs got him something he wanted, of course he was going to keep doing it
Outside the house, Peter was always leading whatever group of neighborhood kids he could wrangle into trouble, or as he called them, adventures. Staying out late wasn't a problem for him and he would become surly when the other children had to go home to their parents.
Magic or otherwise, people were drawn to him even though he can be kind of a douche. Or maybe because he'd kind of a douche. Kids are funny like that, being drawn to the popular kids, the ones who seem confident and self assured.
Since coming to the Walt Disney Academy, he's continued to be popular, and continued leading the willing into 'adventures'.
The library wasn't one of Peter's favorite places. The main problem he had with it was everyone's incessant need to keep it so damn quiet in there all the time. Seeing how he relied on music and talking to do most of his charming, hanging out in the library was just above being poked in the eye with sharp sticks on the list of Things Peter Liked Doing.
But some days it was a necessity, especially given computers (and by extension the internet) didn't so much work in the castle, let alone provide legitimate source for a research paper. Even if they had, any time Peter tried to look for anything online, he got distracted by porn.
Peter figured out early on in his second year that if he sweet talked one of the assistant librarians (in a quiet voice, of course) she'd help him find whatever book he was looking for, which would allow him to get the heck out of there and back to things that were far more entertaining. Sadly, she was out today, which meant he was on his own, walking through the isles of dusty books and trying to avoid humming, which brought the irritated stares and the shushing.
Turning the corner to an isle that looked, to his eyes, exactly like every other isle in this room that sound forgot, Peter caught sight of Sidney out of the corner of his eye.
With a grin firmly on his face, Peter sat himself down on the table Sid was currently occupying. Not in a chair but actually on the table, half a butt cheek and upper thigh firmly resting on the wooden surface. Angling his boday toward his new companion, he spoke in the quietest voice he could manage. "I am shocked to find you here, darling," the shit eating grin communicating his teasing as much as his tone did.
