You showed me, when I was young just how to grow, You showed me, everything that I should know. You showed me, just how to walk without your hands. Cause mom you always were the perfect fan.
Jas behaves rather menacing, but cowardly. He is more often than not made to look like a fool. Despite this, he's still a widely feared. Though no one can ever prove this, otherwise he'd be locked up in Hollow Bastion, Germany's Wizard prison. Myth is that he killed someone just for singing... Jas is extremely intelligent and is also very good at manipulating people into believing they want to do things they never wanted to do. Jas easily has a tendency to find loopholes in agreements or contracts by showing obedience to the letter of the law, rather than the spirit of the law. For instance, if Jas was to make a promise that he will not lay a finger or a hook on Peter, he would agree, knowing that there is any number of spells or cures at his disposal to use against the boy. "I did not say I was not going to do that!"
Jas's minion, Mr. Smee, is not only his employee more or less, but his best friend, for lack of a better term. While Jas is incredibly cruel, rumored to be highly deadly, short tempered and shows no care others, he seems to only tolerate the bumbling actions of Mr. Smee. Although he sees Smee as a constant annoyance, Jas has never shown any desire to harm him in any way. Jas views Smee as his confidant, sharing personal thoughts with him which is not common for a men of Jas' acclaim. Jas is described as being cruel, sadistic, arrogant, loud, cowardly, menacing, persuasive, funny, quick-tempered, ruthless, suave, two-faced, dishonest, conceited, impatient, ignorant, greedy, manipulative
Loves ships, has a miniature ship set on a water play set under his bed, that when activated, the enchantment on his bed lifts and he can play with his ships.
Muggle treasures. He loves everything about them and figuring out how they work and what he can do to make them work better (magically, of course).
Deception. Jas gets pure joy out of deceiving others, whether it be his fellow professors or students. It's all fun and games to him.
Baseball. It's a muggle sport, but Jas LOVES the sport. He's been working on ways to make it better (magically, of course).
Congac. Jas loves his bubbly just before bed.
Piano. His favorite instrument, loves to play it, and can quite deftly.
James Bartholomew Hooke's father left him and his mother when Jas was barely old enough to walk, but Jas remembers the night vividly. The old man had stopped in his son's bedroom, telling him to watch over his mother because he had business to attend to. Eufie never knew the business her husband was in, but she fell in love with and married him anyway. The two of them only had one child, James, who his mother affectionately calls Jas. It's the name he prefers to go by. Both Eufeginia and Bart were born into Wizarding families, and Jas comes from a long line of witches and wizards. It's something he's very proud of, although he is intrigued by muggles and their muggle treasures. He's loved collecting muggle items since he was a very young child.
When Jas entered the Walt Disney Academy, he was placed into the Atlantica House. The Sorcerer's Hat had a hard time deciding between that and Shanghai, and neither he nor the hat knew exactly which one he would be best in. The hat knew he would fit well into either one, but finally settled on Atlantica. Jas was pleased with the decision. It wasn't long later that he met Smee. Despite how much he wanted to fit in with the "cool" crowd, Jas always found himself hanging out with Smee. He would try to ditch him, but Smee always seemed to be hanging around somewhere. It wasn't until his summer just before his seventh year at the academy that he finally accepted Smee and didn't try to push him away again.
While on an adventure off in the marshes, one Smee had to tag along on, Jas was caught unawares by a crocodile. He had been leaning down to get a drink from the fresh water bed, when the croc came out of nowhere and if Smee had not been there to pull him away, the crocodile would have had more a meal rather than the tasty niblet he did get. There was no way either of them was going in after Jas' hand the crocodile had snapped off and was masticating as he sauntered away in the water. Not only did the crocodile take his hand, he took the only thing his father ever gave him, a pocket watch Jas kept on a chain around his neck. From that moment on, Smee was Jas' best friend and closest confidant. He never once shunned the bumbling fool away. Jas has since then worn a hook to replace the hand he lost.
Jas and Smee took to the open sea for close to thirty years after graduating from the academy. They lived a life of carefree indulgence, making a muggle-living off of shipping things from port to port. When Jas heard of the opening at the academy for a Muggle Studdies professor, Jas and Smee returned to the academy. Jas has been teaching at the academy for eleven years now. He resents Mikhail Maus as the headmaster, because it should be him who is the headmaster, not that oddfish.
Jas has never been married. The most important person in his life, other than his mommy, is Smee. When he accepted the job at Hogwarts, he told them he wanted Smee to join him at the academy as well as his assistant. The headmaster at the time accepted this and Smee came with Jas to the academy. One would say that these two are lovers, but Jas at least, has never thought of Smee as more than his friend and the only person he can ever count on. However, if the two of them were to truly analyze things, they would realize that they were truly in love and that no one else could ever come between them, but Jas would never admit he was in love with Smee, no way, no how.
If there was one thing Jas hated more than anything else it was insubordination. These scurvy little brats running around the halls of this great institution were the bane of his existence. One in particular, the pint-sized Peter Campanelli. He was everything Jas had hoped to be when he was younger, but it was something Jas could never attain. If he could dispatch of the scallywag without facing the imprisoning consequences, Jas would.
However, it's not as though he hadn't killed people before. While he and Smee were out on the open seas, he killed plenty men, Wizards and muggles alike. But this was a child. Though, Peter was one child he would make an exception for. But as it was, Peter was nothing more than an annoying child. Nothing more, nothing less. He couldn't kill the boy just because he annoyed Jas.
So Jas did all he could to avoid the boy, when he wasn't in his class, that was. He knew he couldn't avoid him at all times, and the only time he could do that was when he was in his dorm, and the thing he loved most about his dormitory? Playing with his ships. Jas walked into his room and spoke the enchantment which made his bed lift from it's place on the floor.
Looking over the play set, he sat on the seat which hovered above the water so he could play with the ships floating in the water. The ships were enchanted as well, able to fire mini cannonballs on his command, making the ships fight a great sea battle at his whim. The ships could rematerialize when he was done fighting with them. It was something he enjoyed more than almost anything else in this world. It helped him relax and forget about all those abjectly imbecilic children running through the halls of his academy]
